I recently paid $800 for a 16-foot Chris Craft ski boat. It has been sitting for a few years and has a 4-cylinder engine that probably just needs a starter. Although it needs to be reupholstered, the floor and other components are in good condition, and the fiberglass is sturdy but faded. This is my first inboard, but I'm not sure of the model or engine yet.

I intend to replace the carpet, reupholster, and get it operating again. Is there anyone who knows what size battery this boat would require?

I would appreciate any guidance or assistance!

Well done on the Chris Craft. A Group 24 or 27 starting battery with 500–600 CCA ought to be suitable for a 4-cyl inboard. Unless you're running extra gear, there's no need to deep cycle. You can verify the engine model and then check the specifications again. Enjoy the build, this is a cool project

For a 16-foot Chris Craft with a 4-cylinder inboard, a 12-volt marine battery around 55-75 Ah should work fine, opt for a deep cycle battery if you plan to run accessories too
