My 2017 Chris Craft Launch 25 got me scratching my head. Horn won't honk, speedo won't budge, fuel gauge is going back and forth like a seesaw. First stop, fuse box but open to other theories!

You're spot on with the first stop and if everything is good, your second one should be to look for a bad ground. It's always one or the other with these things.

@CookiesAndDream I was thinking that might be the next place to look if the fuses are all good. Is there a main ground bus or a common grounding point on these boats I should hunt for 1st?
@Jaco_b I appreciate the thought and I'm really hoping it's not something that serious. Will for sure keep that in mind if the simple fixes don't get me anywhere.

Hey there! My next thought would be a shared ground connection or even a failing main power relay or circuit breaker. Given the age of the boat, a corroded connection somewhere in the main harness could also be the causing these issue affecting multiple circuits. Good luck tracking it down and update us if you'd fix it!

Good call on checking the harness for corrosion. Feels like it's either a shared ground issue or maybe a bad relay causing the trouble

The theories about a shared connection were on the correct path.
I finally had time to get into the boat's wiring over the weekend. After tracing the bundles from the console, I located the main ground bus bar. It had a fair amount of corrosion built up on several terminals.
Disconnected the power, then cleaned all the contact points and re-secured the connections. Once I turned the battery switch back on, the horn, speedometer and fuel gauge all functioned properly. The problem is now resolved.

@anti-apollo Nice work tracking that down! Corrosion on the main ground is sneaky but cleaning it usually does the trick like you saw ^_^.
